This being a South Indian restaurant, I ordered Veg Kuthu Porotta and didn’t depend my decision. I reached there just before afternoon break and yet they were welcoming. The food was served quick and the porotta tatsed awesome with the raita. The portion was Really good and filled me up easily. The spiciness level was accurate and the food seemed authentic.
Give it a shot if you would want to explore South Indian cuisine.
One of the worst South Indian restaurants far by quality and taste. This was a good 30 mins ride from home to this place and the expectations hit ground level when we tasted it for the first time. The Chettinad chicken was so watery and very salty. The Chicken 65 was a horrendous small portion of dry chicken just tossed in some weird spices. And the Malabar Parrotta could never be eaten even by a Sabre tooth!! It was so hard and rubbery.Worst experience doing take out here.Don't recommend this place ever and never going back again.
A decent place for Indian!
I'd say it is above average, but not absolutely amazing.
The mango lassi had a nice consistency, but it had too much of the yogurt flavor and not enough of the mango.
The Chettinad curry was flavorful and spicy, but the sauce was a little watery in my opinion. The meat and veggies inside were okay.
The cheese naan was a nice side.
Overall, it was an enjoyable meal, but there was something that left me not completely satisfied and I'm not sure what it was.
I'm not sure how prices are in other Indian spots lately, but everything pictured costs $30.
Simply delicious
If you just want good food simple good Southern Indian food this is the place.
This is a very special place for true Southern Indian cuisine! You will not see any typical Indian art or statues, no paintings of gods either. This place is actually Indian owner and run! Let the colorful walls and the sound of classic jazz keep you company as you await some of the best Indian food in the entire area, if not the entire country. Made to order, dairy free and vegan available. Great personalized service!!
It's a nice restaurant and a healthy Indian food. I always pass this place and be telling my wife that we go eat soon at this place and we finally did. The food was good and good service. We got there early like right after 1130 (that's when they open) and in half an hour it filled with ppl for lunch.
The biryani is not for a connoisseur .. it is pretty basic, paneer chetinnad was very bland nothing chettinad style .. the three stars are for samosa chat and dosa.
Paneer chettinad was also not up to the mark.
Malai cofta was too mushy. Review 2- it was good. I mixed all the food together and then ate it. It tasted really good. Service was excellent as well.
I've gone to southern spice various times for lunch but didn't get a chance and this time being for a birthday party and a small group, it was perfect. ( masala dosa, veg biryani, uptthapam, veg thali, egg curry) the food was super delicious as pictures show empty plates lol. The lunch menu when brought to table is rather large so you can get the dishes and everyone can taste the variety.
